Valuable Mirror of Truth #10: “Dominion!”
Read: Genesis 1:26-28
What does dominion mean to you?
Surely, you have asked the question at least once, “Why am I here? What is my purpose?” God created you, me, and all of mankind in His image and after His likeness. He created the world and everything therein, then handed it over into the hands of mankind. Yes, God gave us dominion over His earthly creation!
Every life leaves some type of mark, makes some type of impact, whether it’s good or not so good. Everything you do is either developing the world around you or diminishing it. Therefore, live life with eternal significance in mind.
So, what comes to your mind when you think of the word, dominion? Do you think about dominance, authority, power, or control? Let’s consider this instead: stewardship, responsibility, mastery, and care.
Our Heavenly Creator gave us the best! We are fashioned after His likeness and given the world at our fingertips. Wow! What value God has placed on us! But, why? Because we are made in His image! So, He gave us the best that we may tend the earth, manage its resources, act responsibly for the overall good and concern for others around us; and to use our knowledge, skills and crafts to serve and extend His reach in the earth.
You don’t have to do it all. Just take dominion in your part of the earth and tend it. Manage the resources in your life. Live life with others in mind. Share what you have with someone else. Build up your fellow man and remind them of the intrinsic value that God has placed in every human being.
Now, how will you take dominion in your part of the world today?
