Purpose
This initiative aims to raise awareness and provide incarcerated students a space to
reflect on the significance of self-worth. We hold that one’s sense of self directly influences their
actions. It is essential for each individual to acknowledge their inherent value, which remains
constant regardless of external circumstances. While life’s events can influence our feelings, our
values steer the decisions we make in response. Through this program, we encourage and
empower students to explore and affirm their self-worth. Regardless of others’ perceptions,
individuals maintain responsibility for living in accordance with their values. We believe your
values are expressed through your choices and actions. Cultivating positive values contributes to
the development of stronger, healthier communities.

Upon their release, students receive a HOPE/VALUE case containing items intended to support
their reintegration and foster positive contributions within their community.
