Valuable Mirror of Truth #20: Feeding God Through Songs

Read: Psalm 69:30

In this Valuable Mirror of Truth, I want to share a message from God concerning the types of “song dishes” He loves. But first, I’d like to tell you what happened while I was editing this writing on Wednesday morning, 2/25. I began to waver about sharing this message because of uncertainty. Then, at 9:14 a.m., I received a text from one of God’s daughters with a link to a song.

As I listened, the Spirit of God and I rejoiced. Our Father was confirming that He wanted me to go forward and share this message, giving us an idea of the undeniably tasty and satisfying song dish He enjoys. These are the lyrics…

“Lord, You are good, You’ve been so good…You’ve been better than good, I can’t praise You enough, I owe You my life, Can’t praise You enough, Even If I tried, ‘Cause You’ve Been, So Good, To Me!!!!!!!” ~By Todd Galberth

On social media, I enjoy watching content creators cook their favorite dishes. They often say they prepare recipes the way they were taught, but encourage viewers to tweak them to suit their own taste. In the same way, when we prepare a song to offer to our sovereign God, we should carefully add the ingredients He loves—with the ‘Soul’ purpose of serving Him a song filled with admiration and praise for His good pleasure.

Whether singing a current song or creating a new one from scratch, here are some godly ingredients for a pleasing recipe: “Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 7:12, KJV)

In conclusion, just as you would find out what a special dinner guest would like to eat to satisfy their appetite, we should always make sure that each song dish that we serve to our God, contains the most Praise-specific ingredients, to fully please the heart of our Father, at all times in Jesus’ name.
